Urban Step Tables

Urban coffee shops create communities. As they integrate different urban elements such as steps and sidewalks they creates hubs for social interaction. These step tables were custom designed with the intention to maximize the inherent street interaction while providing light. The tables are tucked into the steps creating cozy nooks. The step tables are programmed to light up gradually as the sun sets. This creates a warm ambiance of emanating lights. Through a motion sensor the tables dim as someone takes a seat next to them to create a more intimate and interactive experience.
