Dubai pop up boutique
The client requested a design that would soften the spacial aspect of the rented commercial space in a residential area in Dubai. The space is an elongated rectangle and therefore has a tunnel effect. The client requested two design as the spaces is made up of two rectangular plans that are connected with a common door. The concept was to use geometric shapes to break up the length as well as stations. The first design shows a gypsum ribbed along the space that fragments it into smaller sections from the top. The second option shows island that are organically shaped on the ground and carry display rods. The client requested a minimal light toned feel with a neoclassic feel and the design plays on the neoclassical while offering a contemporary twist. The use of raw materials such a polished concrete poured floor and travertine walls gives it an industrial feel while keeping the chic edge of a retail fashion concept store.
